==Notes== The meeting voice transcription is available on the [[Event_talk:{{PAGENAME}}|talk page]]. # '''2021 key goals to focus on''' ## MWStake Membership ##* Credit Card processing for all options (individual, corporate, donations, conference tickets, etc.) ##* Acquiring new members ##* Acquiring new sponsors ## Project Canasta/MediaWiki Open Source Content Services Platform (MOSCoSP) ##* Agreeing on a direction and supporting it ## Conference Participation ##* Taking on more responsibility for planning ## MWStake "Machinery/Processes" ##* Board Membership ##* Member (individual) voting ## Social Media Outreach ##* Handling the MWStake Twitter account ##* Promoting conferences # {{Agenda presenter|Eric-Jan}} '''Eric-Jan's email''' #* To me a strategy is no more (or less) than a plan of action to achieve our long-term goals. These goals should be defined and are consistent with our mission and vision. So, step 1 is to define long-term goals and step 2 is the plan how to achieve these goals. The plan comes down to: Who does what and when should it be ready. #* As far as strategy and goals are concerned, last year we have been mainly focusing on facilitating MediaWiki Stakeholder membership. This should be finalized by a working payment system and by getting new members on board. The acquisition plan to find members was adopted in April 2020. #* There are 2 current initiatives that require to determine our position and role on the strategic agenda: #*# [[MW:Project Canasta|Project Canasta]] #*# [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMHcO9AG7ww MediaWiki Open Source Content Services Platform (MOSCoSP)] #* We could revitalize and review our workboard as potential input for our goals. #* What’s our position to conferences as the recently held SMWCon Fall 2020 and the scheduled EMWCon Spring 2021? #* To summarize for today’s agenda I would propose to discuss the long-term goals and the linked plan as concrete deliverables. # '''Project Canasta/MediaWiki Open Source Content Services Platform (MOSCoSP)''' #* {{Agenda presenter|Markus}} We (MWStake) are good at coordination, we can help with that #* {{Agenda presenter|Markus}} We could try to bring the 2 efforts together and acta as a hub to bring people together #* {{Agenda presenter|Cindy}} I agree, the worst possible outcome is to have both efforts split into two competing ideas. #* {{Agenda presenter|Cindy}} We can ease the demands & provide a bridge. #* {{Agenda presenter|Cindy}} Help connect each effort with community & experts #* {{Agenda presenter|Mark}} It seems we are in agreement, this meets with our strategic plan. What's the next step? #* {{Agenda presenter|Eric-Jan}} Someone needs to understand each goal & determine what is complimentary & unique so that both efforts can align and support the stakeholder needs, then work to accelerate them. #* {{Agenda presenter|Lex}} What is the status of MOSCoSP? #* {{Agenda presenter|Eric-Jan}} Between Wikibase Solutions and Hallo Welt!, we have 40 developers working in this. #* {{Agenda presenter|Mark}} I hate the name (MOSCoSP), propose "MediaWiki Open Source COntent services Workshop" (MOSCOW) #* {{Agenda presenter|Cindy}} MOSCoSP is enchancing MW to be ready for an Open Source Content Services platform #* {{Agenda presenter|Cindy}} Canasta is more about the process (PX) to handle the transfer/download/install of the packages # '''Marketing''' #* {{Agenda presenter|Eric-Jan}} Another goal is to have MediaWiki on [https://www.gartner.com/en Gartner's] "Magic Quadrant" for a [https://www.gartner.com/reviews/market/content-services-platforms/vendors Content Services Platforms (CSPs)] #* {{Agenda presenter|Bryan}} I've discussed Gartner's Magic Quadrants before, the key insight I had was that it's "vendors" that show up, not software. The vendors usually need to surpass some revenue (i.e. $20 Million Annual Recurring Revenue) ==Actions== {{Actionable board |All |{{PAGENAME}} |MWStake |True |View |{{PAGENAME}} }}
