- Lex Just have an account and send money ($500) from (10) people.
- Markus It's actually more difficult than you'd expect to transfer money.
- Bryan As a quick status update, mwstake is incorporated but haven't completed the non-profit filing with the IRS. We do have an a bank account and we can turn on "merchant services" at any time which would allow us to collect money from anywhere in the world. We are hoping to give access to both Mark and Evita (Treasurer) before we set-up merchant services because it'll be harder to do after.
- Cindy What about just early registration?
- Cindy We could start collecting membership now.
- Lex What is the "quid pro quo"
- Bryan It seems we have 3 options:
- "Founders" 10 people @ $500 (or some ratio)
- "Early Registration"
- "Collect Membership now" (Could be prepaid for the next XX years?)
- Cindy Hopefully the amount of money in the bank will grow as conferences (that's I've been associated with) had a Revenue/cost >1 (usually a few hundred after each one)
- Lex & Cindy MWStake is not "sponsoring" we are "underwriting" these conferences. Individuals/Companies can "sponsor".
- Lex We need the merchant services account up and running.
- What are the requirements for Board Members & How are future Board Members chosen?
- Mark Require a ratio of attendance for MWStake (monthly) and Board Meetings
- Lex Board Members can "abstain" from a limited amount of votes
- Cindy The goal should be to have active participants
- Markus Ratio of attendance and responses to Action Items (assigned and completed Action Items from meetings)
- Cindy Reach out to Board Members to see whey they are missing
- ACTION ITEM Mark Mark will reach out to Board Members to gauge continued interest in the organization and ideas to improve attendance
- Markus Should the Bylaws be updated to reflect decisions about Board Member requirements?
