1. Eric-Jan Plans for 2023
   • So, talking about goals and principles means ‘What are we as the MediaWiki Stakeholders’ Group here for?’ I took a look at the Charter and Bylaws. We, as volunteers, want to fulfil the Vision, Purpose and Activities we defined in the Charter in a professional way. Professional to me means voluntary but not without obligation. So:
   1. Serve the community
   2. Trustworthy and reliable
   3. Well organized (practices, procedures, an agenda, prepared)
   4. Fulfilling legal obligations
   5. Practice what we preach
   6. Visible
   7. Financially in control
   • I think there is room for improvement to further professionalize and get our act together. The road to a more professional corporation in 2023 seems to call for a plan. A plan that should tackle at least:
     1. Activities for our Community:
        • E.g. organizing our yearly conferences and hackathons is something we are good at. And projects, WikiApiary etc.
     2. Organization
        • A smoothly running organization
        • A clear division of roles in the Board resulting in ownership for areas and topics
        • Board meetings with topics that are prepared and online discussed prior to a meeting
        • A balanced agenda with technical and non-technical topics
     3. Action based approach
        • An action based plan for 2023
     4. WIP
        • Before thinking of new activities, we could use this quarter to execute what we have planned in the past but is still work in progress. I just grabbed some areas and topics.
          1. Finance
             • Financial control
               • A treasurer that is financially in control. Meaning access to our bank account, having a trustworthy budget, knowing revenues and costs, doing payments
             • A strong Membership base
               • We haven’t really reached out to possible Members as we discussed
               • Reach out to continue existing Memberships aiming for long lasting Memberships
             • Legal obligations
               • I am talking about liability and fulfilling legal obligations such as compliance and governance here
          2. Communication
             • Online presence: attractive websites mediawiki.org and semantic-mediawiki.org
          3. Risk management
             • Meet legal obligations arising from our Memberships
          4. Unfinished activities
             • Reliable project backlog and related work
