Charter (Articles of Incorporation) of MediaWiki Stakeholders' Group (MWStake).

Name, Location, and Applicable Law

The name of the corporation will be MediaWiki Stakeholders' Group (hereinafter "the Corporation").

The headquarters will be at 739 Main Street, Akron Pennsylvania 17501, which may from time to time be changed by resolution of the board of directors.

The Corporation will be governed by the laws of the State of Pennsylvania and the United States of America.

Vision, Purpose, and Activities

The Vision of the corporation is to make MediaWiki the most effective open source knowledge sharing software.

The Purpose of the Corporation is to preserve and promote MediaWiki as open-source collaboration software for the benefit of all users.

The Corporation will engage in Activities to support this purpose:

Contribute to the development of MediaWiki;

Maintain MediaWiki and its extensions;

Improve documentation for MediaWiki and its extensions;

Cooperate and liaison with the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc.;

Coordinate between MediaWiki developers, operators, and users;

Promote MediaWiki to the public;

Act as a patron and coordinator for international gatherings, conferences, hackathons, etc.;

Advocate on behalf of third-party users of MediaWiki; and

Foster best practices for MediaWiki and its users.

The Corporation does not contemplate pecuniary gain or profit, incidental or otherwise.
